Registration / Uniform Day 2026

Membership UPGRADE
If you have accepted the offer to play for the 2026/27 season, you will have to upgrade the ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP in the Ontario Volleyball Association registration system MRS to be a competitive indoor player. The total membership fee, paid directly online in the system to the OVA should be $106.75. This should be completed upon acceptance and BEFORE the club registration day. As you did for tryouts, please bring proof of membership upgrade to registration day / uniform day (dates and times listed below). Screenshot or paper copy are acceptable.

Respect in Sport Parent Module
Respect in Sport is an accessible, online resource in the prevention of bullying, abuse, harassment, and discrimination (BAHD). The program’s mission is to empower participants to recognize signs of BAHD and eliminate it from the game, through a global culture of respect.
• One parent or guardian of an athlete must complete the mandatory online Respect in Sport course
• RIS compliance for each club will be tracked and verified by the OVA
• The cost of the course is the responsibility of the parent or guardian
• The parent course is transferable between sports (i.e. if completed for Ontario Soccer Association, the parent can record that number in their OVA Respect in Sport profile and/or in MRS in their child’s profile)
• Only one certificate number is required per household (i.e. if multiple siblings play within the OVA the course only needs to be completed once)
• Any parent/guardian who has not completed a RIS course, must do so prior to their child’s participating in the OVA competitions
• The program is available in English and French. If there is a language barrier, a parent or a Club contact (on behalf of the parent) can ask for an extension or exemption if there are extenuating circumstances. An email must be sent to Carrie Campbell at ccampbell@ontariovolleyball.org to ask for an extension/exemption, prior to the November 28 deadline or the child’s first event in the OVA.

REGISTRATION DAY / UNIFORM DAY
The Club will be hosting a ONE day registration and uniform day (September 26th) where athletes can get sized and order new uniforms. Parents will need to attend to fill out paperwork and pay club fees.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY FOR TRYOUT INFORMATION
Tryout registration requires TWO registrations. Step one: Club Registration through Hudl HERE. Step Two: MRS tryout player registration, see steps below. (MRS opens September 1st)
MRS registration must be completed at the start of every season.
Please NOTE! Athletes did NOT have to attend open house sessions, OR pre-register, however Athletes MUST register in MRS as a TRYOUT PLAYER ($0) PRIOR to attending a tryout. This covers your OVA Liabilities. The Ottawa Valley Vikings are Region 6.
PROOF of MRS registration will be required at the start of each tryout, print or screenshot.
When registering in MRS The ATHLETE is the one who registers, if a parent is doing the registration USE THE PLAYERS NAME AND EMAIL. (when applicable). There are steps available on the OVA website, and a lil YouTube video if you are having trouble.

NO ATHLETE CAN TRYOUT FOR ANY CLUB WITHOUT BEING REGISTERED IN MRS AS A TRYOUT PLAYER. It’s quick to become a NEW MEMBER and a TRYOUT PLAYER.
Please ensure athletes attend the age appropriate session and location. There will be THREE tryout sessions prior to team selection and announcement.

OPEN HOUSE SESSIONS 26/27
Open House Sessions will take place first week of September, please see post for age groupings. Please pre-register to attend open house sessions to ensure we have a T-Shirt for you. There will be a $20.00 fee for the two nights, however we can not guarantee that the athlete will receive a t-shirt if they did not pre-register. Payment can be made the first night of each session (Cash or Cheque payable to Ottawa Valley Vikings Volleyball Club). There will be a parent information session at the beginning of the first night of each age group session. Athletes do NOT need to attend open house sessions to be eligible for Tryouts.

Pre-Registration for the 2026-27 Season now OPEN
There is no fee and no commitment to pre-register. Pre-registering allows us to plan resources like coaches, gym space, administration, and equipment. It also ensures that you will receive important emails regarding tryouts.
Open House sessions are TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED to be held at FELLOWES HIGH SCHOOL September 1st – 4th 6:00 -10:00pm. There will be a cost of $20.00 to attend the sessions which includes the cost of a T-Shirt. To be paid the first open house session the athlete attends. Cash or Cheque payable to Ottawa Valley Vikings Volleyball Club. More information about open house sessions to follow. Please NOTE, open house sessions are NOT tryout sessions. Open House sessions are an opportunity for athletes to come out, and get some on court time prior to tryout sessions. If athletes do not attend open house sessions they are still able to try out for the 2026-27 season. We do strongly encourage pre-registration regardless.
The Ottawa Valley Vikings will be holding tryouts for ALL athletes (Male and Female) between the ages of 13-18. The details of the tryout process will be communicated as it becomes available.
